The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is expanding across all London boroughs from 29 August 2023. The ULEZ will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year except Christmas Day (25 December).

If you drive in the central London Congestion Charge zone, you will also need to pay the daily Congestion Charge unless your vehicle has an exemption or is registered for a 100% discount. The Congestion Charge zone isn't expanding.
Cars, motorcycles, vans and other specialist vehicles (up to and including 3.5 tonnes) and minibuses (up to and including 5 tonnes) will need to meet the ULEZ emissions standards or pay a daily charge of £12.50 when driving within the zone, including the expanded area from 29 August.
You can check if your vehicle will be affected on the TFL web site.
While electric cars are exempt from the London ULEZ, owners are required to register with TFL and pay a fee, currently £10 per annum. TFL have access to all vehicle data. From the registration number they know that the car is electric. Yet they require production of the log book (V5C) as proof!
Furthermore, it is our understanding that all vehicles including electric will have to pay the ULEZ charge as of 2025.
We are raising a petition against TFLs policy of charging all electric vehicles registration of cvd and annual charge (currently will only be exempt for 2 years).
Since all electric vehicles are not emitting or producing any fumes, we feel this is unnecessary as TFL knows the statues of all cars/vans via DVLA which they use to send out fines
To this end we are asking for your support and would benefit all owners of electric vehicles by signing our petition. We will submit the petition to the mayor of London once we collect 10,000 signatures. So far we have collected verified signatures.
You can support us by inviting others to sign this petition. Please feel free to ask all your friends and enemies to join our efforts.
